Objective To analyze the correlation of the results of low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) detected by di-rect determination( Homogeneous Methods) and Friedewald formula calculation. Methods Total 6493 health people were in-volved in this study from March to September in 2011. TG, TC and LDL-C in serum were examined by direct determination and Friedewald formula calculation. Data were statistically analyzed. Results All patients divided into group A ( less than 1.70 mmol/L) ,group B(1.71 to 2.70 retool/L) ,group C(2.71 to 3.70 retool/L) ,group D(3.71 to 4.52 mmol/L) and group E (more than 4.52 retool/L) based on the levels of triglyeride (TG). The correlation coefficient between the two methods was 0. 915,0. 903,0. 972 and 0. 941 in group A ,B ,C and D ,respectively. When TG was more than 4.52 mmol/L,the levels of LDL-C by direct determination and Friedewald formula calculation were ( 2.17 ± 0.37 ) mmol/L and ( 1.51 ± 0.78 ) retool/L, respec-tively,r = 0. 536, the difference was significant. In the group E, the patients were divided into group Ⅰ ( 〈 6.2 retool/L) and group Ⅱ ( 〉 6.2 mmol/L) based on total cholesterol ;the correlation coefficient between the two methods was 0.853 in group I and 0. 457 in group Ⅱ ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion When TG is less than 4.52 mmol/L, Ffiedewald formula calculation results can be used as a reference when the determination according to the assumed conditions; The direct determination( Homogeneous Meth- ods) can well reveal the level of LDL-C.
