In DAI DENG, JIA Pingwa depicts the political ecological environment in Chinese rural areas through a series of events happened in a small rural town. This novel further reveals the deep social problems by the tragedy of the hero of novel, a govern- ment leader of the small town and keeper, helper and restorer of the political system. Meanwhile, this paper analyzes the author＇s humanistic attitude from other side by intertextual reading of the main body and postscript. The style of ＂mild but sharp, clever but critical＂ shows the author＇s inner strength and ideal light.
