摘要
吉本斯等人把知识生产分成模式1与模式2,引发了英国高教界一些学者的质疑。对此,提出者进行了回应,即模式1不只是一种理想类型,它在客观上是存在的;模式1与模式2虽然有诸多对立和不同,但两者的联系也是非常紧密的;模式1与模式2的划分虽不简单,但仍需继续完善;模式2是一种后现代的知识观,有局限性,模式1是模式2的基础。
The classification of Knowledge Mode 1 and Mode 2 was followed by much stimulating debate. The paper reviews the lively debate based on both modes characteristics: Mode 1 knowledge is in effect an ideal type, but it has actually existed; Mode 2 is not sup- planting Mode 1, but supplementing it; The New Production of Knowledge thesis has been criticized for being too simple and there are several points needed for improving and perfec- ting later; Mode 2 offers a postmodern vision of research and has its limitations. Mode 1 is the cornerstone of Mode 2.
