Xiamen Professional School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in modern times

创办于1932年的厦门国医专门学校，为近代福建地区首屈一指的中医学校教育机构。在中医教育得不到政府支持的社会环境下，以吴瑞甫为首的办学者，自筹资金，艰辛办学，坚持汇通中西的办学理念，着力学校的学术建设，创办学术刊物《国医旬刊》、《厦门医药》，设置国医图书馆，经过6年的努力，培养了众多中医人才，并为近代中医学校教育模式的探索积累了实践经验。

Established in 1932, the Xiamen Professional School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was the leading educational institution of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） in the Fujian region in mod eru times. Without the support of government, Wu Rui fu and his partners self funded for running the school hardly, insisted strictly the idea of converging TCM and western medicine, paid attention to the aca demic construction, launched the academic journals, including the Ten day Periodical of Traditional Chi nese Medicine and Xiamen Medicine, and set up a TCM library. Through the 6 years of painstaking works, the school trained many TCM talents, and accumulated practical experience for exploring the model of TCM education in modern times.
