Objective To find out the infection status of blood transfusion transmitted virus (rITv) in the blood donors of Yao ethnic group in Guangdong. Methods The anti-TTV-IgG was determined by ELISA. TTV-DNA was detected by Real Time PCR. Results 176 samples among 376 donors were detected positive in anti-TTV-IgG detection, with a positive rate of 46.81%. The positive rates of male and female were 47.94% and 45.60%, respectively. There was no significant difference between male and female (x2=0.205 ,P〉0.05). 12 were positive for TTV-DNA detection in 147 samples, with a positive rate of 8.16%.The positive rates of male and female wee 9.21% and 7.04%, respectively, showing no significant difference (x2=0.230, P〉0.05).The TTV-DNA positive rates of positive and negative for the anti -TTV-IgG donors were 5.97% and 10.00%, respectively, showing no difference between male and female (x2=0.790,P〉0.05). Conclusion A high percentage of blood donors of Yao ethnic group was TTV infected in Guangdong.
