The development of the three piece freight car bogie in North American Raiway in the recent tens of years is overall described.The three piece bogie has been improved through comprehensive theoretical analysis,in combination with field operation,test and economic evaluation,so that the freight car bogie has such features as safe and reliable operation,low maintenance cost,long fatigue service life,and low energy consumption.
