“我思故我在”——伯恩斯坦诗歌的笛卡尔式解读

“Cogito Ergo Sum”:Understanding Bernstein's Poetry in Cartesian Perspective

伯恩斯坦作为语言诗的倡导者和实践者,为美国语言诗的发展起到了积极作用。他的诗之结构看似凌乱,语言表达也很支离破碎,这便使得他的诗歌难度很大,让不少读者拿起他的诗不知所云;有的读者因此甚至认为他的诗歌是语言垃圾。然而,若从笛卡尔的"我思故我在"的哲学思维视角对伯恩斯坦的语言诗进行探讨,用形而上学的基本方法去展示其诗歌的意义世界,则可以看到另一番景象。

As an advocator and poet of Language Poetry, Charles Bernstein has played an importantly active role in the development of American Language Poetry. The structure of his poems seems to be ran- dom, and the language seems to be fragmented, and in this way his poems are made rather difficult for readers to understand. Therefore, some readers even regard his poems as language rubbish. The present paper tries to discuss Bernstein＇s poems from the philosophical angle, namely with the help of the ＂Cogito Ergo Sum＂ as a metaphysical way to bring forth the meaningful world of his poetry.
