Integrating the Heritage into the Present: The Preservation and Renewal of Nanjing Luhe Confucius Temple Traditional Blocks

城市化进程中传统街区的保护与开发一直存在着比较尖锐的矛盾,部分建筑遗存严重损毁,历史信息大量丢失的地段更是面临着被现代生活遗忘而消逝的可能。本文以南京六合文庙传统街区的保护与更新规划为例,从街区功能、民居风貌、基础设施的现状解析着手,针对性地提出了圈层式分级保护策略、空间序列与景观修复对策、建筑高度控制思路,力图使该街区在物质层面融入现代生活恢复其传统生活气息,以利于可持续的保护传统文化资源。

There is always a contradiction between preservation and development of traditional urban blocks, not to mention some of the heritage buildings were damaged badly.Those blocks which lost their historical data are suffering the possibility of being abandoned by modern life.This article takes the Preservation and Renewal of Nanjing Luhe Confucius Temple Traditional Blocks as an example and bases on the block functions,features of local residences and existing infrastructure,then bring the following strategies：Classified Preservation,space sequence and landscape renovation, building height control. The strategies are aiming at integrating modern life into the tradition blocks so that the tradition cultural resource could be preserved in a sustainable way.
