This article analyzes the cultural factors that have helped Jeremy Lin,a second generation Chinese American,attain his success in his sports career. It points out that,while American media emphasizes American cultural factors,such as the inspiration of the American dream,they often ignore the influence of immigrants＇ home cultural factors that have also played a pivotal role in their success. In Jeremy Lin＇s case, Chinese cultural factors,particularly strong family discipline and encouragement,is an integral part of Jeremy Lin＇s path to his astonishing accomplishments on the basketball court.
