纳博科夫的《洛丽塔》在文坛上一直颇有争议。作品主题旨在反映社会现实、揭示社会弊端:现代社会中丰裕的物质生活和空虚的精神世界间的强烈反差。畸恋少女洛丽塔的亨伯特折射出二十世纪五十年代西方精神荒漠中人们的迷茫与堕落,而享伯特本人正是这精神荒漠的牺牲品。
There have been controversial opinions upon Nabokov＇s Lolita. The story is aimed at explo-ring contemporary society and exposing social defects： the considerable contrast between the abundant physical world and the barren spiritual world. Humbert, who morbidly fell in love with a nymphet named Lolita, is a victim of the spiritual waste land, who reflects the confusion and degeneration of the western world in the 1950s.
