Ahhough Wufu is a small town in the border area of Fujian, it has about one thousand years of historic culture connotation. The existing gatehouses, varied shaped and decorated, have long history. They are the blend and coalition of ancient residents＇ material civilization and spiritual civilization. Based on a detailed description and analysis of Wufu gatehouses＇ characteristics, the author of this article reveals their deep cultural attribute, reflects the ancient residents＇ ideology at the same time with the hope of providing a reference to the further study of＇ ancient town＇s historic culture.
