摘要
本文基于2011年底在华177家高技术产业外资研发(R&D)子公司的区位分布以及各省研发资源等相关经济特征,通过主成分和截断模型,分析中、西部地区吸引高质量外资R&D的潜力,探讨该地区省份嵌入跨国公司研发环节的合理方式。实证结果显示:以四川、陕西和湖北为代表中西部省份的人力资本和创新能力资源在全国处于中上游水平,具有嵌入跨国公司研发环节的潜力,同时,对以基础研究为主导的外资子公司有较大吸引力,而对以产品本地化开发为主导的子公司不具有吸引力。
In view of the location distribution of 177 foreign R&D subsidiaries in high - tech industry in China at the end of Year 2011 as well as the related economic features of R&D resources at various provinces, we use principal component and truncated model to analyze the potentiality of the middle and west areas to attract foreign R&D with high quality, and discuss proper mode for such areas to be incorporated into the R&D link of multinational companies. The empirical results show that: Human capital and innovation capacity in the middle and west areas (e. g. Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei) are at the middle and upper level nationwide; they are potential to be incorporated into the R&D of multinational companies; meanwhile, those areas are attractive to the foreign subsidiaries dominated by basic researches; and that they are not so attractive to the foreign subsidiaries oriented by product localization development.
