借助《申报》数据库全文检索1872-1911年间我国政治方面的关键词的词频,是验证学界有关清末我国政治定见的有效路径。具体来说,在政治体制方面,"民主"比之"民权"更经常被提到;资产阶级革命派保皇派在20世纪才为国内舆论较多关注;清末推行预备立宪缺乏舆论准备,操之过急。在国家存亡方面,八国联军侵华事件影响巨大;甲午战争的影响不容高估;1905年是清末的关键年。
