古诗英译的叙述艺术——陶渊明《怨诗楚调示庞主簿邓治中》译诗比读

Narrative Techniques in Translating Classical Chinese Poetry into English——A Comparative Study on the Translations of Tao Yuanming's Poem “A Complaint”

从叙述时序、叙述视角和叙述结构三个方面,对陶渊明的诗歌《怨诗楚调示庞主簿邓治中》及其两首译作进行了叙述艺术的对比研究。原诗体现出汉语古诗的传统叙述特色,而两首译诗则以独特的翻译策略实现了中英叙述传统的有机融合,各有侧重地传达了原作的诗性美学光辉,促进了东西方跨文化交流。

From the perspectives of chronological order, narrative viewpoint and textual structure, this paper makes a comparative study on the narrative characteristics between the original and two translations of the poem ＂A Complaint＂ by Tao Yuanming. It is found that the original poem embodies typical narrative features in classical Chinese poetry, while the two English versions are the flexible combination of Chinese and English narrative traditions, conveying the poetic beauty of the original with their respective translation techniques, and promoting the cross-cultural communication between China and western countries in an effective way.
