Due to the significance of Plants and Flowers in Chinese and Western holidays or festivals, this article makes analyses of the historical origins, the cultural connotations, the functions, and the change and development of the symbolic plants and flowers and the plant - flower - folklore in Chinese and Western Festivals, aiming at probing more effective and workable ways for the inheritance of traditional culture.
