摘要
在清中期的紫砂壶艺史上,最具代表性的要数陈曼生与杨彭年合作所制的壶,这种由陈曼生设计,由杨彭年制作,再由曼生及其友人题铭的砂壶被称为"曼生壶"或"曼壶",由于其造型简洁,制作朴雅,铭文富有内涵而深受历代画家、文人所喜爱,得之者往往珍逾拱壁。而"曼生十八式"遂成后世传奇。
Of all kinds of purple-clay teapots produced in mid-Qing dynasty, the one made by joint efforts of Chen Mansheng and Yang Pengnian is the most representative. This kind of purple-clay teapot, designed by Chen Mansheng and produced by Yang Pengnian and then inscribed by the men of letters including Chen Mansheng himself, is called 'Man Sheng teapot' or 'Man teapot'. Generations of painters and literati like them because of their simple shape, plain but elegant craftsmanship and meaningful inscriptions, and those who get any one of them always treasure it very much. So 'the eighteen kinds of Man Sheng teapot' have become a legend for future generations.
