The erosive wear behavior of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and 45\+# steel was tested by an air borne particle erosion equipment. The effects of impact angle, the particle hardness and the impact time on the erosive wear of UHMWPE and 45\+# steel were demonstrated. By Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM), the worn surface morphology was analyzed. The authors explore the erosion mechanism of UHMWPE and 45\+# steel.
