从语法隐喻角度分析林译《黑奴吁天录》

An analysis of Lin Shu's translation of Uncle Tom's Cabin in the view of grammatical metaphor

立足语法隐喻理论基础,从概念隐喻、语气隐喻和篇章隐喻3个方面探析译作《黑奴吁天录》中的删改。分析表明,林纾的删节、增改并非胡乱之为,而是要通过"增删改"推翻原著的主题并构建一个隐喻文本,成功地将当时中国的政治形势和小说内容对接起来,向读者传递爱国思想,完满地实现译作的意旨。

Based on the theory on grammatical metaphor（ GM）, this study attempts to explore the alterations in the Chinese version of Uncle Tom＇s Cabin translated by Lin Shu from the perspective of ideational metaphor, interpersonal metaphor and textual metaphor. And the focus of the study is on its purposeful deletions, corrections and addition. The analysis shows that in this way, Lin Shu al- tered the theme of the original version, constructed a metaphorical text in which he conveyed his pa- triotism to the readers and carried out his intention of the translation.
