The Androgyny of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth

《麦克白》是莎士比亚最杰出的戏剧作品之一。多年来,人们因剧中主人公突出的性格特色和复杂的心理变化而将焦点集中在男女主人公的悲剧形象上,较少对造成人物悲剧的原因进行深究。本文拟从"双性同体"的角度出发对麦克白和麦克白夫人身上的双性气质进行分析,并探究导致人物悲剧命运的根本原因。

Macbeth is one of the most outstanding dramatic works of William Shakespeare. For years, the re- search focus on the heroine s tragic image because of the prominent personality and complicated psycholog- ical changes of the protagonists. Few people go into the causes of the tragedy. This paper aims to analyze the bisexuality of Macbeth and lady Macbeth from the perspective of Androgyny, and meanwhile explore the fundamental causes of the characters tragic fate.
