基于语料库的译者风格研究——以《牡丹亭》的两个英译本为例

A Corpus-based Study of the Style of Translator Based on Two English Versions of The Peony Pavilion

运用语料库翻译学方法,对明代戏曲家汤显祖的代表作《牡丹亭》汪榕培的英译本和Birch的第一版英译本中的译者风格进行研究。采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,对所建立的两个英译本平行语料库中的标准化类符形符比、词汇密度、平均词长、平均句长等数据进行统计,并在此基础上对两个译者风格进行定性分析。

Through the methods of corpus-based translation study, this paper aims to analyse the styles of translators in Wang Rongpei＇s and Cyril Birch＇s English versions of The Peony Pavilion, a masterpiece of Tang Xianzu. With the combination of the quantitative and qualitative research methods, the data about the Std. TTR （standardized type token ratio）, lexical density, mean word length, mean sentence length, etc. will be collected from a parallel corpus to make a final qualitative analysis on the styles of translators.
