Back pressure regulator injection is a new sample injection method for gas chro-matography.With this method the samples are injected under precolumn pressure.The main advantages of the method include minimum injection signals,higher speed of anal-sis,stronger detection signals with smaller sample volumes,more efficient separation and shorter columns.The method is particularly suitable for trace gas analysis and on-line analysis.The design of the injection system and the experimental results are described.
