Robert Frost is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life ot Amerlcan. His poetry is plainspoken but deep. The frequent employment of tools is a distinctive feature in Robert Frost＇s poetry, but few critics have touched upon this specific aspect. With the eye of his family background and life experience, this paper intends to analyze the tools employed in some representative poems of Frost, and divide the tools into two kinds： tools for labor and tools for entertainment. The writer hopes it is helpful for the readers to achieve thorough and comprehensive understanding of Frost＇s poems after examine the tools in Frost.
