论文化教育在中国英语教学中的重要性 被引量:2

On the Necessity of Cultural Education in English Language Teaching Classrooms in China

摘要 外语教学的根本目的也是在实施一种文化教育,所以在实施这种文化教育的同时就不能仅仅向学生传输语言本身的知识,而要结合语言背后蕴含的文化背景信息,才能更好地提高外语学习的成效。从语言和文化固有的内在关系,以及对培养跨文化意识、提高跨文化交际能力的作用入手,论述了在我国英语教学中进行文化教育的必要性及其方法。我国英语教学应以文化教育为手段,适时适度地向学生导入相关的文化背景知识,增强学生对中西方文化差异的理解,切实提高学生的跨文化交际能力。 The essential aim of foreign language teaching includes implementing a kind of cultural education. Therefore, when it comes to implementing the cultural education, only teaching students the knowledge of the language itself is not enough. In fact, However, in the actual process of English teaching in China, we have not paid enough attention to the cultural education. This paper discusses the necessity of cultural education in English language teaching classrooms in China from two aspects: First, it is determined by the interrelationship between language and culture; Second, it is the key to cultivate students' cross-cultural awareness and enhance students' intercultural communicative competence. By means of cultural education in English language teaching classrooms in China, we should properly teach certain cultural background knowledge to Chinese students in order to enhance their understanding of the cultural differences between Chinese and western cultures, and to improve Chinese students' intercultural communicative competence.
