摘要
本文讨论了知识经济时代公共图书馆职能的修改与拓展,从知识收藏与大众传播、社会教育、信息开发与情报服务、文化娱乐等四个方面提出了新的建议。
The paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges of public libraries in the Age of knowledge economy, and draws a conclusion that the traditional functions should be intensified and developed in the new particular circumstance. Fi- nally this article puts forward four functions of public libraries in knowledge economy age-document presentation and knowl- edge dissemination, social education, information exploitage and service, and cultural entertainment.
