Making American Consciousness by Core Knowledge:A Focus on Hirsch's Neo-conservatism Educational Reform

摘要 与强调能力、高水平技能培养的方法取向的进步主义教育思想家不同,强调内容取向的教育新保守主义者赫什认为,只有以传递文化素养为使命的核心知识课程,才能解决美国教育中的质量问题、平等问题和共同体感危机的问题,才能抵制激进的多元文化主义的消极影响,重塑美国国民的国家意识。 Differing from method - oriented educational progressives emphasizing the training of higher - order skills for students, Hirsch, as a content - oriented educational neo - conservative, considers the core knowledge curriculum with the mission of transmitting cultural literacy to be the key solution to the three problems of quality, equity and the sense of community, to balancing the negative influences of radical muhicuhuralism. Only in this way, according to Hirsch, can American consciousness be remade.
