在分析了"前"的基本意义的基础上,对其语义的认知性进行了在空间、时间和隐喻三个维度的剖析,并参照汉英两种语言的认知差异,从相似则借鉴和有别则创造两个方面探讨"前"字在上述三个维度中诸多实例的英译,为更好地传递原文意义提供新的视角。

This thesis analyzes the cognitive meaning of the Chinese character ＂ Qian＂ from the dimensions of time, space and metaphor on the basis of its basic concept. Moreover, it discusses the C--E translation of numerous examples of ＂ Qian＂ with reference to cognitive differences between Chinese and English, and puts forward principles of borrowing and creating to provide a new perspective for a better interpretation of the original text.
