Preliminary Study of Space and Landscape Characteristics of Tuanjie Town (the Birthplace of Sarah's Family)

循化县是我国唯一的撒拉尔族自治县,撒拉尔族全民信教——伊斯兰教。宗教在组织其社会生活、城市空间布局、城市建设中,发挥了巨大的作用,也因此产生了极具特色的城市风貌。文章试图通过这个案例让我们对当代城市规划设计的理论和方法有所反思。

In China, Xunhua is the only town where the Sarah ethnic people, all having the same Islamic faith, reside in. Religion plays an important role in the daily lives of the Sarah people, and because of this, heavily impacts the design and planning of the area, resulting in the unique urban space and landscape. Using the Sarah case study, this article attempts to reflect on current urban design theories and methodologies.
