The early Chinese Pavilions in World Expo were built in traditional Chinese style. A copy of Wanfaguiyi Hall of Potaraka Doctrine Temple in Chengde, known as Golden Pavilion because of its golden roof, was exhibited on Chicago World Expo in 1933. The copy attracted much attention from China and the Western World since 1929, when Sven Hedin planned to make the copy. According to the exploration of historical information, this paper tries to introduce the building process of the copy, and the fate of this copy after the exhibition.
