This paper offers a brief introduction to the renovation and expansion project of Shanghai Xinghua Education and Training Centre and discusses the various strategies the architect adopted throughout the project. A description of the operational process has also been offered with references to the unfolding of the design approach. The architect has carefully deployed the relation between ＇form＇ and ＇proclivity＇ in the design process, thereby symmetric duaJity＇ in the ncorporating the trope of Chinese language.
