In comrade Li Ruihuan＇s new works View and Statement, there are a lot of incisive expositions on literature and art which are scientific and dialectical and have inspiring and realistic significance. Grasping the overall situation and standing on the commanding height of new era, the author comprehensively, profoundly, and dialectically discusses the function and aim of literature and art. Meanwhile, with an altitudinal cultural consciousness and confidence, he penetratingly reveals the peculiar law of literary development. In author＇s opinion, only when we get a clear understanding of the particular function and consciously grasp the peculiar law of literature and art, could we conscientiously fulfill the social responsibilities as literary and art workers. View and Statement embodies an altitudinal cultural consciousness and confidence, and everywhere reflects Marxism with Chinese features.
