A Study on the Relationship between Working and Living in Beijing

城市功能主要包括居住、工作、游憩和交通四种。其中,居住、工作不仅是两个最主要的城市功能,还将直接影响到交通功能是否良性运转以及社会和谐。因此,城市规划中合理配置居住、工作的容量及空间关系,是引导社会稳定和交通协调的重要措施。随着城市的发展,"职住平衡"的概念被广泛应用于城市规划领域。本文以北京市交通通勤出行特征为研究对象,深入思考职住平衡的概念与评价标准,针对以北京为例的大城市职住关系现况进行分析、评价,并在此基础上提出完善职住关系的措施建议。

A city should have four primary functions which are living, working, recreation and transportation. Living and working are the two most important ones which will significantly influence the efficiency and quality of city life. Therefore, a sound relationship between living and working is essential. In this paper, the author will assess the relationship between living and working in Beijing by investigating the city traffic situation and discussing the concepts and standards related. On this basis. the author tries to provide suggestions to balance living and working in Beijing,
