“青少年”不宜作为学术名词

“shaonian”Instead of “qingshaonian”as Chinese Translation of “Adolescent” in Academic Context

＂青少年＂在学术界和公众领域是常被使用的一个名词,但不论从语言学角度分析这个概念的内涵和外延,还是实际应用情况,会发现＂青少年＂一词容易混淆＂未成年人＂和＂成年人＂的界限,不宜作为学术名词使用。因此,提出用＂少年（adolescent）＂作为指示13~18岁的未成年人（儿童）的概念。

The Chinese word ＂qingshaonian＂is commonly used in the academic literature and public media. Since it is the combined spelling of ＂qingnian＂which is referred to young adults,and ＂shaonian＂which is referred to adolescents,it is often quite vague in distinguishing a man called ＂qingshaonian＂into＂adults＂or＂minors＂. It is necessary to use＂shaonian＂,which is clearly defined as minors（ children） with ages of 13 to 18 years,as Chinese translation of＂adolescents＂.
