On the Four Modes of Temporal Narration in Films

电影的时间叙事可分为四种模式:线性模式、交织对比模式、回环重复模式、片断组合模式。这四种模式各有特征,并适应不同类型的故事。线性模式简单易懂,迎合娱乐需要,是精彩故事的最佳选择;交织对比模式拥有强大的叙事能力,可能同时处理多个故事;回环重复模式适应于情节与观念的需要,不能轻易使用;片断组合模式自由灵活,更适应于表达观念,对观众要求较高。

Temporal narration in the film can be divided into four kinds of modes： linear, interleaving contrast mode, circle mode and segment combination mode. The four modes have different characteristics, and adapt to different types of stories. The linear mode is simple and easy to understand and caters to the entertainment needs.. It is the best choice for the wonderful story. Interleaving contrast mode has a strong narrative ability and can handle multiple stories. Circle mode is employed to satisfy the needs of plots and concepts and cannot be easily used. Segment combination mode is flexible and suitable for ideas expression, which requires audience to be at a high level.
