Breeding of A New Cucumis melo Variety ‘Zhongtian No.4'

中甜4号是以高代自交系B121为母本、B4为父本杂交育成的厚皮甜瓜新品种.中甜4号全生育期90～100d,果实发育期35～38 d,圆形果,果皮黄色,果肉白色,中心可溶性固形物含量14.0％～15.0％,果肉厚度4.0cm左右.平均单瓜质量1.5 kg左右,吊蔓栽培667 m2产量2 400～2 900 kg.该品种适合我国东部地区保护地及西部露地栽培.2011年10月通过国家级甜瓜新品种鉴定.

＇Zhongtian No. 4＇ is a new variety of Cucumis melo developed by using male parent B4 and female parent B121. The fruit matures 90-100 days from sowing and 35-38 days from flowering. The fruit is round, yellow skin and white flesh. The flesh central soluble solids content is 14.0%-15.0% and the flesh thickness is about 4.0 cm. The average weight of fruit is about 1.5 kg. The yield per 667 m2 is 2,400-2,900 kg with trellis cultivation. It is suitable for greenhouse production in eastern China or open field production in western China.
