With the progress in studies in recent years, circulating tumor cells(CTCs) have been found to have close connection with the invasion and metastasis of solid tumor, which can predict the tumor prognosis and direct the individualized therapy as well. Nowadays, plenty of detection techniques of CTCs have been applied in clinical research, whereas the lung cancer, as the most common malignant tumor, is still in its primary stage of CTCs research, because of its low sensitivity and non-unified detection techniques. As the larger sample and multicentric studies are being developed, it is sure that CTCs will play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. Here is to make a review of the recent progress of CTCs in lung cancer research field.
