This paper summarized professor LIU Shen-lin＇s experience in treating gastric cancer. According to the patients＇ clinical manifestation, there were 7 syndrome types of the gastric cancer：spleen-qi deficiency syndrome, phlegm- dampness stagnation in the middle-jiao syndrome, stomach-yin deficiency syndrome, adverse ascending of stomach-qi syndrome, disharmony between liver and spleen syndrome, mutual retention of toxin and blood stasis syndrome and cold accumulation with yang-deficiency syndrome. The corresponding treatment were the following 7 methods：strengthening spleen and replenishing qi, resolving dampness with aromatics, nourishing yin and defending stomach, descending and regulating stomach-qi, harmonizing liver and spleen, detoxifying and activating blood circulation, and warming yang and dispersing cold. There was also a typical disease case showing that the treatment had the effect of relieving symptoms and elevating life quality.
