处所意识与星球意识

Sense of Place and Sense of Planet

在对全球环境的想象中,美国的生态批评家强调在现代社会中肯定已经被破坏了的、作为个人和团体身份基点以及与自然的连接点的地方处所感。事实上,世界上并没有原始的荒原,更没有不被全球联系影响的本土地理。因此,在全球联系日益增加的语境下,星球意识比处所意识更重要。文化想象的重心应该从处所意识转向更系统的星球意识,这是生态批评的必然趋势。

American environmentalists emphasize on the local as the ground for individual and communal i- dentity and as the site of connections to nature that modern society is perceived to have undone certainly as the environmental imagination of the global. But in fact, there are neither primitive wildernesses, nor local places not influenced by global connections in the world. Therefore, in the context of increasingly growing global contacts, sense of planet is more important than sense of place. It is an inevitable trend for ecocriticism that the center of cultural imagination should turn from sense of place to more systemic sense of planet.
