On Cultural Meaning of Chinese Words

汉语中词语的量较大,大部分都较容易翻译成外语,但是部分词语在对译时它们所蕴含的独特文化意蕴已经无法寻见,失去了它应有的味道,读来有种"食之无味"之感。本文简要阐述汉语词语的发展历史,阐明词语在汉语中的重要地位,并例举词语分析传统文化意蕴,论述词语的文化意蕴的研究意义所在。

There are a large number of words in Chinese language, and many are easy to be translated into foreign languages, but the special cultural meaning of some Chinese words has lost in translation which sounds boring to the readers. This essay explains the history of Chinese words development and points out the important role of words, analyzes the cultural meaning of Chinese words through examples, and discusses the significance of study on cultural meaning of Chinese words.
