The informatization and intelligence＇s construction status and development of refinery production process is discussed in this paper. Information technology is a solution to upgrade the management for the traditional refinery plants through the integration with the refining technology to form new professional applications and information management systems. Enterprise Resources Planning and Manufacturing Execution Solutions are two typical systems are widely used to improve the technology of operation, such as optimizing the manufacturing and decision support. Intelligence is an improved technology based on informatization, which becomes a future hot research focus of refinery plants The intelligent chemical plant is constructed based on smart devices and instruments, by means of combination of information and automation. The intelligent chemical plant may establish appropriate indicators, model and application systems. The important features are including advanced control system, real-time optimization system, and process modeling system and advanced planning system, etc. Additional, the emergence of business intelligence will further change the mode of ooeration and management of the refinery factories.
