Estuary is a convergence area of seawater and freshwater from inland, and around which economy and society are often rather developed with serious organic pollution also for intensive human activities. Saline water intrusion in estuary changes water dynamics and physical and chemical properties, and then affects transportation, transformation and distribution of organic pollutants. So review and summary were made on fruits about effect of saline water intrusion on organic pollutants by researchers, especially on Pearl River Estuary. It shows that water stratification was formed easily by saline water intrusion in Pear River Estuary and blocked material exchange from water surface to bottom, which perhaps leads to dissolved oxygen shortage phenomena in bottom. More research work on saline water intrusion effect are still needed to reveal mechanism of complicated phenomena of organic pollutants variation in estuary.
