Zong Baihua advocated a peripatetic aesthetics that aspires to and eulogizes the ways and manners of people of Jin Dynasty in an attempt to reawaken interest in the aesthetics of Wei and Jin Dynasties. From the vantage point of aesthetic art he aimed for a full and poetic life and the beauty of people of Jin Dynasty naturally became a source of inspiration to the lite- rati of the Republic of China when they drew on traditional resources.
