摘要
为了提高高速长时延网络的传输效率,提出一种基于TCP的自适应压缩方案,当应用数据到达传输层时用该方案对其进行压缩,方案能根据数据特性自适应选择是否压缩当前数据,并可对下一部分数据的压缩比进行估计。针对TCP自适应压缩方案的性能,给出分组数、压缩效率和传输时间三个评价指标。在真实网络环境中的实验结果显示,对于文本文件的传输比目前的TCP协议提高约56%的传输性能。对于压缩率比较低的视频和混合文件,该方案的性能略有改善。
In order to improve the transmission efficiency of high-speed and long delay networks, we present a TCP-based adaptive compression scheme, which compresses the application data when it arrives on the transport layer and adaptively decides if the current data is to be compressed according to .the data features. Meanwhile, it also provides estimation on the compression ratios of following data. According to the performance of TCP-based adaptive compression scheme, we give three evaluation indexes: the group number, the compression efficiency and transmission time. The experimental results in real network environment show that this method can improve the transmission performance of the text file by 56% compared with the original TCP, while for video and mixed files with relatively low compression rate, its transmission performance is slightly improved as well.
