This artiele first introduced the historical background of shaft alignment ,together with its categorization and basic principle. Based on an issue ofoil leakage in aft sealing on actual project,certain analysis was done as follow： firstly judged the correctness of shaft alignment installation through the actual loading of intermediate shaft bearing, secondly made comparison between theory offset and actual at the position of aft sealing and finally found the reasons. A solution was then provided and successfully solve the problem.
