新经济地理因素与制造业空间聚集——基于省际动态面板的GMM分析

New Economic Geographical Factors and Manufacturing Industry Agglomeration——Based on the Analysis of Provincial GMM Dynamic Panel Data

针对中国制造业区域发展不平衡的经济现象,文章构建了一个新经济地理的分析框架,分析了市场规模、市场潜力和运输成本对中国制造业集聚的作用。通过动态面板的GMM系统,运用中国2000—2009年的省际面板数据,提出制造业主要向沿海地区、特别是东南沿海地区集聚;新经济地理因素对制造业集聚有显著影响;市场化程度、对外开放水平也有利于制造业集聚。最后,文章提出了有效的政策建议。

This paper focuses on the imbalanced regional development of China＇s manufacturing industry. By building an analytic framework of new economic geography, we demonstrated how market scale, market potential and transport costs affect China＇s manufacturing industry agglomeration. Using the provincial panel data during 2000--2009,we established a dynamic panel GMM system and mainly discovered the following facts：Manufacturing industry agglomeration mainly occur in the coastal areas, especially the southeast coastal areas. New Economic Geography factors have a significant effect on manufacturing industry agglomeration. Market level and economic opening promote manufacturing industry agglomeration. We also provided directional recommendations for local governments.
