Public Interest is the Criterion of Judging Whether the Interest is Reasonable——Personal Interest &Public Interest in Helvetius' Interest Ideas

爱尔维修提出人性就是"自爱",满足肉体的感受性,追逐个人利益是满足自我需要的表现。利益支配着人的行动,是社会发展的动力,人是为了个人利益而行动的,但是,以公共利益为目标的个人行为是正义的,公共利益是判断利益是否具有合理性的标准。他强调个人利益必须和公共利益结合起来才能最终实现个人的幸福。爱尔维修的利益观对于我们正确理解公共利益与个人利益之间的关系,公共利益与人民幸福之间的关系具有一定的现实意义。

Helvetius comes up with the idea that human nature is'self-love',satisfying self sensual feelings and seeking individual interest,and that interest,which dominates human's actions,is a driving force of social development,and that man takes actions for personal interest;however,individual behavior,having the goal of public interest,is of justice,for public interest is the criterion of judging whether interest is reasonable.He emphasized that individual happiness can be realized only by combining individual interest and public interest.Helvetius' view of interest is of practical significance for us to correctly understand the relationship between public interest and individual interest,and between public interest and people's happiness.
