摘要
《在流放地》因叙述行刑机器血腥的杀人过程而具有了"暴力"意味。这种暴力可以分为三个层面:"身体暴力"不仅与卡夫卡在工伤保险公司的工作有关,亦可看作是第一次世界大战酝酿和爆发的间接结果;"法律暴力"赋予"身体暴力"合法性权威,并在无可争辩的情况下强制或自愿实施;"语言暴力"是"法律暴力"的呈现方式,在以军官语言所象征的"高位语言"对以犯人语言所象征的"低位语言"的暴力宰制中,机器以犯人无法读懂的文字实施了刑罚。"暴力"景观在读者灵魂中引起震颤,这使得小说本身也成为一架人们无法用文字完全读懂的"行刑机器"。
Abstract： Through narrating the ordeal of killing by machine, the novel In the Penal Colony has shown some characteristics of ＂violence＂. ＂The violence of body＂ is related to Kafka＇s work, and it＇s an indirect result of World War I ; ＂the violence of law＂ confers the authority to ＂the body of voilenee＂, and it is presented by ＂ the vi- olence of language. ＂ During the domination of ＂High language＂, the machine delivered the punishment by words. The novel itself became a killing machine by words which people could not fully understand.
