Back to Han and Tang Dynasties: A Study of Vein of ZHANG Da-qian's Paintings

张大千虽以画家之名享誉海内外,实际上,书法表现亦有可观。张大千的书法,按其作品面貌,大致可以分为早、中、成熟期三个阶段。张大千透过多层次的临写与摹写,重新建构出他自身的书法史观,在明清诸家流利面貌之后,逐步上追高古气息。张大千的书法学习是一种逐渐完备的历史溯源,从形象外貌的具体掌握,逐渐朝向幽深的内在精神;在精巧灵动的笔法背后,是他心中追摩古法的积极用心。

ZHANG Da-qian has been famous for his paintings, and his calligraphy also has its great reputation. Accord- ing to its styles, his calligraphic works had undergone three phases： early, middle and mature. Through multi-level coping, he proposed his historical views toward calligraphy. Thus after the smoothly style of various calligraphers of Ming and Qing Dy- nasties, he gradually stepped on his road to the pursuit of antique flavor. His calligraphy followed a way of gradual perfection, from the mastery of appearance to the profound internal spirit. Behind the elegant strokes was his positive attitude to pursue and copy antique flavor.
