Bolton指数被公认为是口腔正畸诊断、设计中的常规测量项目和分析的指数,常用于测量上下颌牙齿是否协调,同时还用于预测矫治后的牙牙合关系。关于Bolton指数的测定方法、影响因素、临床应用的研究颇多,但许多论点仍存在争议。该文就牙量不调的发生率、Bolton指数的影响因素,如性别、人种、错牙合畸形种类等进行综述,以便在临床中更好地应用该指数进行错颌畸形病因分析,诊断及治疗方案的设计等。

The Bohon index which is recognized as the conventional measurement item and analysis index in the diagnosis and design of orthodontic treatment is usually used to measure the coordination of up- per-lower teeth. At the same time, it is also used to forecast the relation of occlusion after treatment. A lot of issues in the research of measuring methods, influence factors and clinical application of Bohon index remain controversial. Here is to make review of the literature on Bolton＇s tooth-size discrepancies（TSD） with specific attention to the prevalence of TSD, and the possible influence factors including gender, ethnicity and different classes of malocclusion to guide the analysis of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment design of malocclusion.
