Introduction and Reasons for Russian Language Policy's Adjustments in the Globalization

作为第四大国际通用语言,俄语一直在俄罗斯及东欧、亚洲等周边地区占有重要的地位。但随着全球化趋势的发展和地区博弈等政治因素的影响,近年来,俄语的地位和作用不断受到削弱。作为重要的文化软实力资源,俄罗斯提出了提升俄语地位的战略,并采取了一定的措施。

Being one of the most significant international languages, Russia has been playing prominent role in Russia and in the areas of Eastern Europe and Asia. However, with the development of globalization and the wrestling of the regions, the status and the use of Russian language has been diminished in recent years. Valuing the Russian language as part of the crucial cultural soft power, Russia put forward the strategy of promoting the international status of Russian language, taking correlative measures. Apart from the description of the above mentioned strategy and measures, we also analyze its motivation and forecast its future development.
