The unique column ＂Research on the Development of Tumen River Region＂ of Journal of Yanbian University （Social Science） includes various interdisciplinary studies of the politics, economics, history, cultures, languages, philosophy, arts and education in Tumen River Region. The studies relate China^s situation with those in Northeast Asia, raise questions and propose countermeasures for the local development. Abundant academic resources, peculiar cultures with local features, disciplinary supports of Yanbian University and the requirements of the times are the advantages and foundations of the column.
